Dr. Gerd Gröner is senior researcher and project lead at paluno – The Ruhr Institute for Software Technologies, University of Duisburg-Essen. He received his PhD in computer science in 2011 from the University of Koblenz-Landau on the topic of “Process Model Management Using Description Logics”. From 2011 until June 2013 he was Post-Doctorand at the Institute for Web Science and Technologies at the University of Koblenz-Landau. Gerd Groener has a strong background in the application of Semantic Web technologies in software and systems engineering and especially in the realm of business process management.
His current research focus is on IoT-enabled business process management. In particular, he is interested in monitoring, execution and diagnosis of operational business processes and especially in the conceptual and technical design of business process managmenet systems.
Gerd Groener has been member in program committees of international conferences such as the Extended Semantic Web Conference (ESWC), the International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC), the World Wide Web Conference (WWW) and the Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
